“Hirak” was the name of our project presented at the CLINCH Festival in the Pavilion-Hanover in May 2023. “Hirak” means “movement” in Arabic, embodying the essence of the performances by the artists we collaborated with. In this project, we crafted a concept and provided a platform for numerous artists to express their political views and challenge societal norms.
Our program commenced with a short film portraying the invisible parallel realities of those living in the diaspora and their intersections with the society in which we reside
(Emna Mejri, Shahed Wheibi, Nader Ismail, Obada Ismael).
Participating in this project were individuals from both within and outside Hannover, including the Berlin-based Syrian Queer-Rapper Enana and Hanover-based dancers Hadeel and Roni.
We aimed to experiment with diverse formats, such as a Soufi performance (Tamim) set to Techno sounds (DJ Ayaz) and a fusion of Techno with percussions (Hadi), e-guitar (Omid)
